You just had to laugh.

The media had spent days ramping up the pitch and hyping the coming BC Fall Election. Speculating about just when it would be and who would win.

And when the media had worked itself into a frenzy………Premier Clark announced she had no intention of calling an election before the specified date for the next election.

Despite the fact that Clark had never indicated she would be calling a fall election and that all the hype and histrionics were the creation of the Media itself, Media, in their reporting of Clark’s announcement that no election was imminent, sounded so offended.

As if Clark had somehow led Media on; rather than the tempest in teapot having been entirely the creation of Media.

But then Media, finding itself with egg on its face, simply reacted like our society does – look for someone to blame so they did not have to admit to their silliness and accept responsibility for their actions.

Because in our current society we all know that the first thing you do when you set out to do something, especially something difficult or unpopular is decide who you are going to blame when things go wrong or someone gets upset.
